TASKSYY BLOG GUIDE

Before an Employer buys your Service or accepts your Proposal, they usually look at your profile. They are asking a simple question: can I trust this person with my work? Your profile is where you answer it.

Trust is not built with big claims. It comes from clear, specific and consistent information. This guide goes through each part of a Freelancer profile on Tasksyy and how to make it work for you.

Use a clear, professional photo

People are more comfortable hiring someone they can see. Use a recent photo of your face, well lit, against a simple background. It does not need to be formal, but it should look like the person who will be doing the work.

Avoid logos, group photos or heavily filtered images for your profile picture. If you want to show your brand, your cover image and Service images are better places for that.

1

Write a headline that says what you do

Your headline appears near your name, so it needs to be specific. A good pattern is: role + specialism + tools or audience.

  • Vague: “Creative professional”
  • Better: “WordPress developer for small business websites”
  • Better: “Video editor for short-form social content”

If you do several things, lead with the one you most want to be hired for.

2

Write a description that focuses on the Employer

Your description is not a CV. It should help an Employer understand what you can do for them. A useful structure:

  1. What you do and who you help. One or two sentences.
  2. What you are good at. Two or three specific strengths, with examples.
  3. How you work. How you communicate, how you handle feedback and what the process looks like.
  4. What to do next. Point them to your Services, or invite them to send a Project that fits.

Example

“I build WordPress websites for small professional firms such as accountants, clinics and consultants. My sites are simple to update, fast on mobile and set up so visitors can book or enquire easily. I send a short plan before I start, share progress at each stage and include a handover video so you can edit your own content. Take a look at my Services below, or invite me to your Project if you need something custom.”

Notice what is missing: phrases like “highly skilled”, “passionate” and “top quality”. They take up space without telling the reader anything they can check.

3

Add your skills, honestly

Employers filter Freelancers by skills, so adding the right ones helps you appear in the right searches. Only list skills you would be comfortable being hired for today. A shorter list of skills you are strong in is more convincing than a long list of everything you have tried.

4

Show your languages and location

Your profile shows the languages you speak and your level in each. Be accurate. If you are fluent in one language and conversational in another, say so. Employers use this to judge how easy communication will be.

Your location also helps Employers who care about time zones or local knowledge.

5

Build a portfolio of relevant work

Your portfolio is often the strongest evidence of what you can do. A few tips:

  • Choose quality over quantity. Four or five strong, relevant pieces are better than twenty mixed ones.
  • Explain each piece. One or two sentences on the brief, your role and the result.
  • Match your Services. If you sell logo design, your portfolio should show logos.
  • Only show work you have permission to share. If a client asked for confidentiality, respect that.

If you are just starting out, a small number of well-presented personal or practice pieces is fine. Say that they are personal work. Our guide on building a freelance portfolio explains how to choose and present each piece.

Add certificates and education where relevant

If you have certificates, awards or education that relate to the work you offer, add them. They are useful supporting evidence, especially when you are new to Tasksyy and do not have reviews yet. Only include ones that are relevant to Employers.

Verify your identity

Tasksyy may ask you to verify your identity. Completing verification is a straightforward way to show Employers that you are who you say you are.

Keep contact details off your profile

Do not add your email address, phone number or external payment details to your profile text or images. Keep communication and payment on Tasksyy. It protects both you and the Employer and keeps a clear record of each order.

Let your track record grow

Your profile shows your completed orders, success rate and reviews. These build over time, and there is no shortcut. What you can control is how each order goes:

  • Deliver on time, or tell the Employer early if something changes.
  • Handle revision requests calmly and within what was agreed.
  • Communicate clearly at each stage.

Each completed order adds to the record future Employers will see.

Once your profile is ready, our guide on finding freelance Projects online explains how to find work that suits you, our guide on getting your first freelance client helps if you are new, and our guide on creating a Service shows how to let Employers come to you.

Review your profile regularly

Set a reminder to review your profile every month or two. Update your description with new specialisms, replace older portfolio pieces with better ones and make sure your Services still reflect what you want to be hired for.

  • A description that focuses on the Employer
